Steve Menzies Honored with Frank J. Guarini Award

Annual Gala Event Celebrates Leaders in Public Affairs, Business, and Education

April 8, 2019 (New York, NY) — The John Cabot University Board of Trustees hosted their annual New York Gala at the University Club yesterday evening in Manhattan. The New York Gala, an annual tradition, is a premier event that brings together local officials, alumni, trustees, and friends. The annual event provides the university with a platform to recognize outstanding leaders in public affairs, philanthropy, law, diplomacy, business, education, and other fields, who have contributed to the University by demonstrating their commitment to education and by exemplifying the University’s mission.

Steve Menzies, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Applied Underwriters was honored with the Frank J. Guarini award at this year’s event. This distinguished award is given to those who have contributed to the University by demonstrating their commitment to education.

The Frank J. Guarini award was named after the former New Jersey State Senator and U.S. House of Representatives who founded centers and institutes at Dartmouth College, New York University School of Law, St. Peter’s University, New Jersey City University, and John Cabot University. Mr. Guarini has always maintained a strong interest in education, and the annual award is presented to leaders who demonstrate that same interest and commitment.

“It is a great honor to receive this award, named after a man who has dedicated so much of his life to bettering the lives of countless citizens through his service in our military, various levels of government, and in founding higher education institutes and programs throughout the world,” said Mr. Menzies.
